Join Aaron Layton of Relate2Color for an interactive workshop designed to explore the phrase “White Privilege” and what it means in the context of a racialized society. The training will explore who has white privilege, who benefits from it, and how understanding white privilege can help your ministry better engage your specific context.

AGENDA:
- Introduction and Welcome
- Training Purpose and Goals
- Warm-up Activity – “Who’s at the table?”
- Review – Reflective Competence Model
Aaron will help the group evaluate how reflectively competent they are towards other cultures and subcultures. - Activity – Community Norms
Groups will work to create community norms that facilitate productive dialogue. - Thought Paper – The Right Hand of Privilege
Participants will read the thought paper, annotate it (highlight and make notations), and discuss in small groups. - Break
- Lecture – Privilege 101
Aaron will give a brief lecture on “privilege” and encourage the group to take notes and write down questions for a Q & A after the lecture. - Lunch
- Video – Peggy McIntosh
Participants will watch the video and answer questions in both small and large groups. - Activity – Privilege Walk

Aaron Layton is founder and CEO of Relate2Color (R2C), a Christian diversity consulting firm. He teaches and serves as the Director of Diversity at Westminster Christian Academy in MO. Aaron is also the author of the book, Dear White Christian: What every white Christian needs to know about how black Christians see, think, & experience racism in America.
