The Stranger Among Us: Ministering with Foreign-Born Populations

Date/Time
Thursday, March 12, 2015
8:30am - 11:30am

Location
Lutheran Hour Ministries

God’s call to care for immigrants and refugees can be heard throughout the heart of Scripture. Addressing that call – and the cultural/logistical obstacles it comes with – can seem daunting! Join Send Me St. Louis, Lutheran Foundation, and area leaders to learn best practices for connecting with and serving our foreign-born neighbors.

If you are a leader in a program that serves immigrants/refugees or you want your church to become involved, this event is for you.  If your organization works with immigrants/refugees and you want to involve (more) volunteers from congregations, this event is for you.  Join like-minded people of faith for this morning of learning  and connecting!

Presenters:
Suzanne LeLaurin, International Institute of St. Louis
Pat Joshu, Immigrant & Refugee Women’s Program
Mark Akers, Oasis International Ministries
Rev. Stanish Stanley, Christian Friends of New Americans
Laura Brink, Ascension Lutheran Church
