The Carver Project and Hearts Hands & Homes
The Carver Project empowers Christian faculty and students to serve and connect university, church, and society — working toward uncommon community, focused engagement, and creative dialogue.
Spearheaded by an ecumenical group of pastors, Hearts Hands & Homes is an effort launching this spring to catalyze the Christian community in St. Louis to rally around and address a historic challenge — housing segregation, access, and affordability.
Featured Presenters Include:
- Dr. Heidi Kolk – Assistant Professor, Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Washington University and Carver Project Faculty Fellow
- Dr. Penina Laker – Assistant Professor of communication design, Sam Fox School of Art and Design at Washington University and Carver Project Faculty Fellow.
- Rev. Thurman Williams – Pastor at New City Fellowship West End, Director of Homiletics at Covenant Seminary, and member of the Oikos Group.
- Panel of faith-based housing agencies including Catholic Charities Pathways to Progress, The FAM, FT Holdings, St. Joseph Housing Initiative, and Lutheran Development Group. The panel will be facilitated by Dr. Charles Pearson – Executive Pastor, Friendly Temple MB Church Main Campus.
