about us
Welcome to Send Me St. Louis
Growing Christ-centered volunteerism in the community.
We are a professional staff of consultants offering services to:
- Christian volunteers and groups wanting to volunteer in the community
- Community organizations that utilize volunteers to deliver services
- Congregations that offer both volunteers for service, and/or opportunities for volunteering
Send Me St. Louis helps build the volunteer capacity of organizations and congregations in the St. Louis area by offering consulting, training, and resources to individuals and groups who are exploring volunteer opportunities and organizations who are recruiting these volunteers. Ultimately helping to connect these volunteers and organizations in successful volunteering relationships. We believe that intentional discovery before, reflection during and reviewing after a volunteer experience are important for both the volunteers' and organizations' success. Most services are provided free of charge thanks to a grant by Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis. (There may be a nominal charge for training materials). Currently Send Me St. Louis offers:
- Volunteer Preparedness Workshops
- Volunteer Management Trainings
- Congregational Volunteer Management Trainings
- One on one consultations with organizations to help assess their volunteer programs and build towards greater capacity within those programs
- A variety of seminars related to volunteering practices and issues
- Opportunity for volunteers and organizations to connect
Send Me St. Louis serves as the coordinating agency in a collaborative effort focused on Christian volunteering which is funded by Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis. Partners in this collaboration are:
-
The Missouri District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod whose goal is to build the capacity of “the people in the pews” to engage in effective volunteer service.
-
United Way of Greater St. Louis’ Volunteer Center whose goal is to build the capacity of area organizations and congregations to effectively engage these volunteers.
